The Haitian Cultural Heritage Preservation (HCHP) has initiated Zanset Guinen Dance Troupe aim to teach community youths how to play the conga drums and how to dance Haitian Folklore. The HCHP classes are opened to all youths ages 7 – 25 and are free of charge. HCHP Dance and Tambour Workshops focus on teaching the movement and drumming repertoire of Haitian Folk traditions. Each workshop also provides an overview of the dance's cultural setting, such as the costume, music and crafts that traditionally accompany it. Teachers are all former participants in Haitian Folklore dance and tambour traditions and are experts in dances and tambour. Please contact HCHP directly at hchpinc@gmail.com or paradeofunity@gmail.com or by calling us at 845-641-6672. HCHP Zanset Guinen Dance and Tambour Workshops welcome all students, teachers, sponsors, donors, and grant offers to support the efforts. Haitian Cultural Heritage Preservation, Inc. (HCHP) cordially invite you to join us to celebrate International Women’s Day 2023 (IWD 2023) and applaud the women and girls of our community. International Women’s Day honors the historical, cultural, and political achievements of women across the globe. This day is observed also in support of taking action against gender inequality around the world. The world could not run without women and this is a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate your appreciation for women, to discover ways to motivate, inspire and empower them, and to learn about current issues affecting women and girls in our community. The IWD 2023 celebration will take place on Saturday, March 4th from 10AM to 2PM at St. Joseph Church located at 245 North Main Street in Spring Valley, New York. To support this event, we are doing a Step and Repeat banner and invite you to include your name or company logo on the banner with a $150 donation. We also seek your collaboration in celebrating IWD2023 as a vendor to be present and educate the community on the services you provide with a $150 donation. Forging gender equity is not limited to women solely fighting the good fight, but requires allies, like you, who are incredibly important for the social, economic, cultural, and political advancement of women. Please contact us via email at hchpinc@gmail.com, or phone at 845-641-6672 or at 347-558-1076 and let us know in what capacity you will accept our invitation.
